SEPTEMBER:SICKLE CELL AWARENES MONTH

 It's Sickle Cell Awareness Month. It's an opportunity to remind ourselves of all we need to know about our genotype.As it matters in determining so many things .

I know some of our parents got married without knowing their Genotype. Some were lucky to have children without Crisis while some were not..

We don't have to repeat this same mistake out of ignorance.If they had known,I am sure most of them would not have gone ahead considering health implication.

Now that we know the health implication, should we still proceed with the marriage ? It would be unfair to proceed and end up bringing  up those innocent  children to live in pain and Crisis.

For those who claimed to do it out of love, I beg to disagree, such is not love. Love won't make you to do what will hurt another person either directly or indirectly.

If you must act out of love, please be reasonable enough to consider the latent and manifest consequences.
